Also during the seventh edition of Beer Festival Groningen, different masterclasses will be offered. Prominent beer specialists from the international beer industry will tell you about diverse beer themes.

Melissa Cole - London

Melissa Cole is a well-known person within the international beer industry. Besides giving presentations about special beers, she also is a renowned writer. She takes place in juries of experts and travels around the world to transfer her knowledge and share experiences. In the UK she organizes many tastings and beer experiences in the field of beer and food. The masterclass of Melissa is about beer- and food combinations.

Dry & Bitter Brewing Company - Copenhagen

The masterclass is given by Søren Wagner. He is the founder/brewer of Dry & Bitter. He will talk about “Trends in hoppy beers” and you can taste some of them. He will also talk about the history of the Danish craft beer scene.

In early 2015, Dry & Bitter Brewing Company opened its doors for the first time. The ambition was always to brew super fresh IPAs and this has been the main focus since the opening. The flagships within this range now consist of the Bale Ale series, Hobo Chic, Uprising and Dank & Juicy.

As part of the creative adventure the brewery also embarked on an ambitious sour barrel-aging adventure which now counts more than 50 barrels. These are all different beers that will patiently be aged until ready for blending and eventually bottling and conditioning. These beers will be released in our “Limited Release” series.

Recently the brewery have started bottling the core line-up of beers and throughout the following year more and more of the beers will be available across Europe in bottles.

Meantime Brewing Company - London

Meantime Brewing Company is an English brewery situated in London. The brewery was founded in 2000 by Alastair Hook. In addition to ten regular beers, Meantime also brews beers under the single heading of 'pilot series’. Rod Jones, beer sommelier and brewer at Meantime, will come to Groningen to tell about the brewery and the different beers. Obviously, you can taste some beautiful beers.
